Piyas Choudhury
Junior Associate Architect
Piyas Choudhuri joined Architect Hafeez Contractor (AHC) in 2024 and brings over eighteen years of professional experience. At AHC, Piyas leads master planning projects, with expertise spanning township planning, heritage-led redevelopment, cultural institutions, infrastructure, hospitality, and mixed-use developments. He plays a central role in government coordination, statutory approvals, GFC documentation, and site-side design leadership, and has consistently led multidisciplinary teams on large, time-bound commissions.
His key work at AHC includes the National Maritime Heritage Complex, Lothal, encompassing master planning, museum architecture, interpretive facilities, state pavilions, transit infrastructure, and landscape-driven public realms; the redevelopment of the Archaeological Survey of India site at Lothal; NIFT Daman; the Central Business Hub and Convention Centre, Daman; major urban infrastructure including the Jampore Bridge; and large-scale planning frameworks such as the Lothal Area Development Authority (50,000 acres). He has also served as the local architect for international museum projects, leading detail design and regulatory coordination.
Alongside practice, Piyas has over a decade of experience as a Visiting Professor, contributing to architectural and urban design education. His design philosophy views architecture as a layered narrative of place, memory, and material—integrating cultural depth, ecological intelligence, and long-term resilience to create environments that endure and evolve.
