Recognizing that architecture is deeply intertwined with social, economic and regulatory systems, AHC approaches each project as an adaptive response to the unique dynamics of its context.
Located in the heart of South Mumbai, AHC is one of India's largest and oldest architectural and urban design firms. Founded in 1982 by Hafeez Contractor, AHC evolved from a three-person practice into a team of over 600 professionals. With work spanning 5 countries and nearly every metro city in India, AHC's portfolio covers residential, commercial, institutional, healthcare, sports, and civic buildings, with close to 4,000 projects completed to date. Predominantly practicing in India's core urban centres, AHC treats every constraint—whether of space, regulation, or budget—as a prompt for innovation, consistently delivering designs that push beyond conventional limits.
The core of AHC's practice is performance-driven design, delivering scalable and efficient solutions that account for every inch of space.
At AHC, both speed and creativity are prioritised, ensuring timely project delivery without compromising on functional excellence or compliance. AHC's strength lies in its ability to navigate complex real estate and regulatory environments, delivering bold yet contextually rooted designs. From redefining housing models to sculpting iconic skylines, AHC has played a critical role in defining what modern India looks like today. Through their work, they advocate sustainable urban design that preserves land, restores green cover, and reshapes Indian cities to international standards.
