The design approach included one simple idea - to create a working environment that is sustainable and enhances the working culture keeping it well ahead of time. A futuristic design approach representing technological advancements and innovations that reflect Siemens' philosophy 'ingenuity for life' in line with the growing corporate industry of our country. The new age work places with free flowing circulation provide a barrier free environment that developed into an open office layout. The extensive use of curved form in the design enhances the visual and physical fluidity of the space and keeps one connected to the surroundings at any point. The curved planning allows full control over the sound with the help of absorbent carpets and ceilings. To use this continuity as an antidote to the density, several types of break areas and meeting pods designed in a curved fashion blend with the rest of the office making it appear large and endless. The 75,000 square feet office spreads across three floors that allows public entry from mid-level while providing exclusive dedicated entries on the above and below floors for executive and senior executive members. Staying true to the philosophy of an open office, interactive spaces are provided on the intermediate level allowing for cross department interaction. Important to the program are common spaces that are used by all members of the office. There are breakout zones at every level allowing for a quick coffee between work hours. The cafeteria lounge has contemporary bar setup that overlooks the skyline of Mumbai that enhances a relaxed atmosphere. Keeping in mind today's health conscious youth, a gymnasium has been provided equipped with the latest machines. The design concept was intended to try and experiment with fluid forms that enhance the open plan concept to create unusual eye-catching spaces that employees will definitely enjoy every day. The design scheme challenges the conventional office space of typical cubicle arrangement by providing futuristic open work spaces inter spaced with elements of bright colors and lush greenery that helps stimulate minds and inspire innovation. The curvilinear approach and use of advanced material engineering has allowed to make spaces that provide a space like feel. Space-age cubicles called 'Think Tanks' are capsules inter spaced around the office made of glass that help achieve openness and light to pass through the space. These meeting rooms are designed to look path breaking in technology. The organically designed ceiling follows a free flowing pattern in sync with flooring patterns enhancing the dynamics of the design. The floor is carpeted in three shades of grey and three different shades of marble providing a sophisticated feel. Carefully selected lighting and ventilation fixtures such as the circular cassette air conditioner, circular down lights and strips of light emerging from the ground wrapping up the capsule that transcend back into the ceiling intensify the impact of the curves. Each floor has a specific theme that is differentiated by the choice of furniture and flooring colors in the breakout zones. The furniture for the workspace follows the grey theme giving it an elegant look contrary to the bright colored furniture in the lounge areas. Each group of workstations has a movable puffy in the respective theme that adds character to the workspace. The breakout zones are designed in playful manner with elements like green walls, lounge furniture, abstract art pieces which define them as relaxed and interactive zones provided with amenities like coffee stations and water dispensers.
