DLF Hamilton

The 24-storeyed DLF Hamilton Court is a group-housing scheme at the DLF City in Gurgaon. The sheer scale of the blocks with the rhythmic aura of their fenestrations makes an imposing statement. It was one of the first residential buildings, the architect designed for DLF. At the outset, the basic planning concepts were established by the client’s in-house unit. The architect later redesigned certain buildings and adopted a classical style to create a sense of place amongst the clusters in the neighbourhood. The total built up area is 74,500 sq mtr and includes 260 luxury apartments. The development is spread over 6 wings. Each wing has two flats of 3 bedrooms with an attached servant’s room. 4 wings are attached to each other in a row with the other two wings placed at right angles to the former, thus creating a ‘C’ shaped composition, accommodating a lavish landscaped area in the centre. This central space has a sunken courtyard and a water body. 2 levels of basements, which house the parking areas, can be approached from this central open space.
