ISB (Indian School of Business)

International School of Business, Hyderabad is designed in collaboration with Portman Associates and is one of the largest Business school campuses in Asia. It was set up in 2001 and is spread across 260 acres. The academic centre is nucleus of the campus surrounded by the four housing clusters. The architecture is a response to the culture as well as arid climate of the place. The design of the institute was more than just efficient spatial planning of classrooms but also that of educational infrastructure where students get a platform for interaction and sharing of ideas. The geometrical facades are a perfect blend of local architecture and contemporary style. Thev fenestrationacts to filter in light to the spaces as well as natural cooling system protecting the interior from harsh climate.The campus demonstrates the sustainable principles underpinning the overall master-plan. The infrastructure has blended seamlessly into the natural habitat and is home to a large variety of flora and fauna. The public spaces within the development are designed as lively social hubs, naturally cooled by shading and green planting, to mitigate the effects of the intense local climate. The academic centre houses lecture theaters, classrooms, faculty offices, the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) and a 500-seat auditorium. The campus houses four Student Villages. Each Student Village can accommodate 130 to 210 students in a mix of four-bedroom and studio serviced apartments. ISB campus is equipped with many amenities, including fully serviced apartments for students and faculty, cafeterias, a host of sports and recreational facilities, and support services such as banking, communication, convenience stores, medical facilities and more.
