The new 5000 capacity campus for the BITS Pilani in Kalyan, Mumbai is designed for the new Management and Law School. The master planning and comprehensive architectural design of buildings is evolved around adaptability and traditional concept of Gurukul enabling maximum interaction for faculty and students. The pedestrian friendly campus has 3 dedicated zones such as Academic, Student and Faculty housing. The Academic zone has organized planning with 3 large blocks that are inward looking towards the central plaza. The plaza comprises of shaded steps seating, lawns and interactive spaces with beautiful vibrant façade of the buildings as the backdrop. The faculty and student housing zones are more fluid in nature and bonded together by the large sports fields in the centre that forms as a catalyst for the faculty and student interaction beyond the classroom parameters. The campus also provides for the sports centre with an accessible roof that connects the Academic Centre of Excellence building (COE) via foot over bridge. The large stilt in the COE building also visually connects the central plaza and the sports field on either side. There is also a dining block (2000 capacity) along with all the other infrastructure and parking facilities in the campus.
